Privacy Policy for Farishte

Farishte (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is a blood donation and donor-management application (package name: com.frishte.app). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Farishte, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who this App is for

Farishte helps blood donors, coordinators, and administrators:

  

• register as a blood donor  

• sign in and manage a donor profile  

• view donation history and availability  

• view blood heroes and related community activity  

• for authorised staff: manage donors, blood requests, blood banks, users, and alerts

The App is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run the blood donor service.

Account and profile

  

• Full name  

• Email address  

• Password (stored securely on our servers; we do not display it)  

• Mobile number  

• Gender  

• Blood group  

• Occupation (optional)  

• Address (optional)  

• Administrative location: country, state, district, and block (selected by you in the App; we do not use GPS or device location)

Donation and service data

  

• Donation history (date and units donated)  

• Availability status (for example: available, unavailable)  

• Blood request and blood-bank records created by authorised staff  

• Likes or similar interactions on blood-hero listings  

• Role and portal access (for example donor vs staff)

Device and technical data

  

• Login session token stored on your device so you stay signed in  

• Basic technical information sent with internet requests (such as IP address and request time) for security and to operate the service

The App uses the Internet permission. It does not request access to your camera, contacts, microphone, or GPS.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  

• create and manage your account  

• verify your identity when you sign in  

• process donor registration and staff review/approval  

• match and display donor, request, and donation information to authorised users  

• show relevant blood-hero and dashboard information  

• send in-app service notices related to blood donation activity  

• keep the App secure and prevent unauthorised access  

• improve reliability of the service

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. How we store and share information

Your information is stored on our servers and, where needed for login, on your device (login token and basic profile cache).

We may share information only:

  

• with authorised Farishte staff and coordinators who need it to run the blood donor programme  

• with service providers who host or operate our servers, solely to provide the App  

• if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request  

• to protect the safety of users or the public in a genuine emergency related to blood donation

Other users of the App may see limited public-facing donor information where the feature requires it (for example name, blood group, and donation activity on the Blood Heroes list).

5. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage of your login token on the device and authenticated access to the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. How long we keep data

We keep your account and donation records for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to operate the blood donor programme, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account as described below.

7. Your choices

You may:

  

• access and update profile details available in the App  

• sign out, which removes the login token from your device  

• request correction or deletion of your account by contacting us

If you delete the App from your device, locally stored login data is removed. Records already saved on our servers remain until you request account deletion or we delete them under this policy.

8. Children’s privacy

Farishte is not directed at children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Third-party links

The App may connect only to our own Farishte / Blood Donor Portal servers. If we later add links to other websites, those sites have their own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
